 *2008 US NEWS & WORLD REPORT’S Best High School in the Country Bronze Award Winner

*One of the top ten schools in the state with a low per pupil expenditure and high level of student performance on the Texas Assessment of Academic Skills Test. 

*State Competitors at History Fair, VICA, French, Spanish, Writing, Visual Arts, Speech, Dance, Track, and JROTC. 

*Cory Cox named to the 2005 Grammy Band, one of only two drummers picked nationwide. 

*One of the first high schools in Texas to offer Emergency Medical Technician training as a course offering dual credit. This program received recognition from the Texas Department of State Services. 

*MacArthur Peer Tutoring Program was established in 1999, the only high school in AISD with this comprehensive academic support offered 

*Cross Country Team: 3 State Championships, 3 Runner Up Titles, and 21 District Titles 

*The Brigade Belles Dance Team was crowned 2005 National Champions in Galveston at the Showtime National Competition. 

*MacArthur Marching band has won 1st Division awards for ten straight years at UIL Marching Band Contest 
*Mike Hall, 2005 Outstanding Art Educator for Secondary Schools. 

*Jan Davis-Risinger: Board Member of Trade and Industrial Vocational Association (TIVA) and Board Member of SKILLS USA District 8. 

*Mel Basham: Board Member of the Texas Art Educators Association (TAEA) 

*Mark Hockman, 2003 Siemens Award winner for Excellence in AP Calculus instruction.
