Heather Peterson, Principal  
Principal Heather Peterson

Heather Peterson has 28 years of experience in education. Her career began as an English teacher at MacArthur High. She has also served as a counselor, assistant principal, curriculum assistant principal and principal at Davis Ninth Grade School before coming back to MacArthur Sr as principal.

Shauna Jones, Assistant Principal  
Shauna Jones

Shauna Jones was named Assistant Principal in August of 2015.  She served as a Health Science teacher at MacArthur Sr. for 9 years. Before entering the field of education, she was a Health Educator for the City of Houston Health Department and Texas Children’s Hospital.  Ms. Jones received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education from Sam Houston State University in 2001.  In 2004, she received a Master of Science degree in Health Education and Promotion from Texas Southern University.  Ms. Jones is a product of Aldine ISD and a proud alumnus of MacArthur Sr. High.  Ms. Jones serves as the Career and Technical Education Administrator. email:sljones@aldineisd.org



David Lehman, Assistant Principal  
David Lehman

David Lehman was named assistant principal at MacArthur High School after serving as a Spanish teacher at the same school.  Mr. Lehman received his bachelor’s degree in Spanish Teaching from Brigham Young University in 2010 and his master’s degree in Education Administration from Lamar University in 2015.  He began his teaching career in 2003 as an ESL instructor in the Provo School District. In 2011, he moved to Aldine ISD to serve as a Spanish teacher at MacArthur High School. Mr. Lehman has 11 years of experience in the field of education and he has spent seven of those years with Aldine ISD.

Stephanie Gary, Assistant Principal  
Ms. Gary


Stephanie Gary began her career teaching in Illinois. She graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree in English and a master's degree in educational leadership. After teaching for 7 years in Springfield Public School District #186, she moved to Houston and taught for one year at MacArthur Ninth Grade School. For the following two years at Mac 9, Mrs. Gary worked as an instructional coach and administrative intern before becoming an assistant principal at MacArthur Senior High School in 2016.

 Dr. Tom Halbert, Ed.D.  Assistant Principal  
Dr. Tom Halbert

Dr. Thomas Halbert joined MacArthur High School after serving as the STEM Endorsement Coordinator and CFISD CISCO Networking Academy Administrator at Cypress Creek High School in Cypress Fairbanks ISD.  He serves MacArthur High School in the capacity of Mathematics Curriculum Assistant Principal.  Dr. Halbert received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a major in Human Resource Management, from Gonzaga University in 1982 and his master’s degree in Educational, with a major in Mathematics Curriculum & Instruction, from the University of Houston in 1985. In 2014 he received his doctoral degree from the University of Houston in Education Professional Leadership.  He began his career at St. Louis High School in Lake Charles, Louisiana and was assigned to teach mathematics and chemistry.  In 1986 he joined Cypress Fairbanks ISD and served 30 years at Cypress Creek High school as a mathematic, computer science, and CTE technology educator.

Akua Twumasi, Assistant Principal  
Akua Twumasi

Akua Twumasi services both the Science and PE/Athletics department at MacArthur, where she has served as an Assistant Principal since 2015. Ms. Twumasi  served as a high school science teacher and coach for 5 years, spending time in both Kansas City, Missouri and Klein ISD. Ms. Twumasi received a bachelor's degree in secondary science education from the University of Missouri - Columbia in 2010. In 2014, she completed a masters degree in Educational Leadership at Houston Baptist University. Currently,  Ms. Twumasi is perusing a doctoral degree in Executive Educational Leadership at Houston Baptist University. Her research interest include supports for African American male academic achievement and increasing the opportunity gap for minority students.     email: aptwumasi@aldineisd.org
